Below you will find the professional biographies of the FallsFree4Life Bracknell team; Philip Hoy, Ines Morais and Elaine Martin.

Philip Hoy, MSc. ASCC

Philip Hoy is the Falls Prevention Project Manager for Solutions4Health. In this role Philip coordinates a team of wellness coaches and physiotherapists providing all aspects of falls prevention including risk assessment, referral services and strength and balance classes.

Philip is an accredited strength and conditioning coach by the UK Strength and Conditioning Association. Philip also possesses a master’s degree in Public Health and Nutrition from the University of Southampton and a bachelor’s degree in Sports Coaching and Conditioning from the University of the West of England.

Prior to starting his role at Solutions4Health Philip spent eight years as a strength and conditioning coach. This role enabled Philip to work with a wide range of individuals from various backgrounds and disciplines helping them too maximise their performance, re-habilitate from injuries and reach/maintain their peak physical condition. Philip also used to be a professional rugby player and coach spending years with Northampton Saints and Doncaster Knights RFCs and represented England students, under 20s and under 16s. These professional playing and coaching experiences combined with Philip’s academic studies have lead him to develop a strong passion for helping and assisting others within the general public.

Philip now helps identify older people at risk of falling, to help them prevent injuries and continue to lead happy healthy lives. Philip offers a wide range of programs and services, from multifactorial falls risk assessments, strength and balance classes and referral to assisting partners.

Ines Morais, MSc. MCSP

Ines is a Wellness coach and Physiotherapist with Solutions4Health. In this role, Ines provides all aspects of falls prevention, including identification of falls risk assessment, strength and balance training and referral to local services. Ines is a chartered physiotherapist, holding an undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy from the University Fernando Pessoa and a master’s degree in Nutrition and Food Science from the University of Reading which enhanced her holistic and person-centred approach.

Ines is no stranger to preventing injuries, having spent eight years as a physiotherapist in various healthcare settings. As a physiotherapist Ines has worked with an array of differing individuals to help them prevent injuries, re-habilitate from injuries and maintain their wellbeing. Additionally, Ines is specialised in the treatment of inner ear and balance disorders.

Ines now helps older people to prevent falls and their consequences by using her previous experience as a physiotherapist to identify those at risk of falling and utilising the relevant intervention strategies to reduce this risk.

Elaine Martin, BSc. PG Dip. Reps

Elaine is a Wellness coach and physiotherapist with Solutions4Health. In this role, Elaine performs all aspects of falls prevention, including identification of falls risk assessment, strength and balance training and referral to local services. A big believer in primary prevention, Elaine supports proactive, upstream approaches to healthcare.

Elaine has extensive experience within the health and fitness industry and also has an undergraduate degree in Sports Science, Health and Exercise and a Sports Massage Therapy diploma. Elaine is also a registered exercise professional and a qualified instructor for Pilates, personal training, spinning and circuits. Prior to starting her role at Solutions4Heallth, Elaine spent many years as a physiotherapist technical instructor and exercise referral specialist.

After a successful career in physiotherapy and exercise referral, Elaine now assesses and advises older people on how to help prevent falls.
